Offline use
Test labs, HIL rooms and security labs often run on networks without internet access. Arnodiqa is designed for these networks. Installation, licensing, updates and documentation work without any outbound connection.
| Network connections | Engine and CLI make no outbound internet connections. DoIP connects only to the ECUs or the test network that you configure. No telemetry. |
|---|---|
| Air-gap mode | Arnodiqa makes no connections to the internet. Installation, licence check, documentation and support work without a network. |
| Licensing | Licence file with an Ed25519 signature, checked locally. There is no activation, no phone-home and no reactivation. Node-locked, site or volume licence; no hardware key. Without a licence, Arnodiqa runs for 30 days with all features. After that, opening, viewing, offline replay, conversion and export of projects and log files keep working. |
| End of maintenance | Licences are perpetual. After the end of maintenance, Arnodiqa keeps working with every version released up to that date. There is no remote shutdown, and a running measurement is never interrupted. |
| Installation | Windows installer (MSI or setup.exe) with an embedded offline WebView2 runtime. It installs and runs without internet. There is no automatic updater; a new version is a new installer. |
| Editor | VS Code extension for CAPL as a .vsix file, installable offline. The language server runs locally and makes no network connections. |
| Updates | A new version is a new installer, with SHA-256 checksums. Distribute it on USB media or through an internal repository. |
| WebView2 | The user interface runs in Microsoft WebView2. Arnodiqa turns off SmartScreen, synchronisation, autofill and the runtime's background services. Updates and diagnostic data of the WebView2 runtime itself follow the organisation's Windows policy (for example WSUS and group policy). |
| SBOM and notices | Every release includes a CycloneDX SBOM for the desktop application, the CLI, the language server and the VS Code extension, with checksums. Third-party notices are included in the installer and can be opened in the application via Help → Third-party notices. All open-source dependencies are under permissive licences. |
| Driver libraries | Drivers from the interface manufacturer are loaded at runtime and are not part of the installation. The product contains no third-party code under restrictive licences. |
| Support | Logs and crash reports stay on the computer. The user creates a support bundle (zip) in the application or with arnodiqa support bundle and sends it through their own channel. User names, host name and serial numbers are anonymised; keys, bus data and CAPL sources are never included. The full file list can be reviewed beforehand. |
| Documentation | This website and the documentation work without internet (no CDNs or web fonts) and are searchable. |
| Reproducibility | The same version and the same project give the same result. The simulated bus is deterministic. |
Typical environments
- OEM test labs and HIL rooms without internet access
- Suppliers in the defence sector
- Homologation and security labs (UNECE R155/R156)
- Teams whose measurement data and projects must not leave the building
